"STOCKPILED BREASTMILK"
STOCKPILED BREASTMILK
"Which is better, feeding more breast milk for a shorter period of time, or supplementing with formula & feeding breast milk for a longer period of time? I'm happy to say she's over 4 months now and needs to wean, but I'll still have close to a full months supply of milk frozen (I have rotated my stocks when I'm at work, so what's frozen is the freshest). Would it be better to use up all of the frozen breast milk & then start her on formula, or stretch out my supply as long as possible by supplementing with formula right away?"
I think it would be great to give her breast milk for as long as you can. That means, when you need to wean, give her half formula and half breast milk – that way your supply will last longer and that way, she will continue to receive the important immunities found in breast milk for a longer amount of time.
